The route: Incredible atmosphere and feeling of getting away from it all and connecting with nature.

You can leave your car at the rocky car park near Finca la Corona. This rural hotel is visible on Google Maps and you can see the carpark next to it and the trailhead.

When you’ve had time to stop and take in the stunning views, you can begin the descent. You’ll be walking down the cliff for some 300 metres. The trail is a combination of steps, stones and loose soil. Once at the bottom, you can choose to either walk on to the beach (option shown on the map), or keep walking cross-country to the very end of the trail, past the salt flats. Conserve energy for the way back as there’s no alternative other than to retrace your footsteps and climb back up the uneven trail all the way to the top!

Best feature: The atmosphere and the views. The chance to exercise in spectacular surroundings.
