The route: Light and relaxing training.

Circular route through the Volcanoes Natural Park, the volcanic and agricultural heart of the island. Ideal for a training run that’s not too demanding. Walkers can enjoy the peace and quiet of the most uninhabited part of Lanzarote. Some tips to help are:

Once past the area called Las Quemadas be careful not to take any of the branches off the path that you might come across and don’t be distracted by the twists and turns towards the end.

Hacia Caldera Colorada.

Once at the large dirt esplanade in Mancha Blanca, locate the tarmacked area behind and if you look hard and you’ll see the little path to the left. Carefully follow the path and just after passing a ruin, turn left, then go right, up a small hill.

Leave the LZ-56 road via a track that runs through a sea of lava. At the end of it, you’ll see a sign directing you towards Los Bermejos.

Best feature: Off the beaten track, ideal for a dose of solitude.
Point of interest on route: The Volcanoes Natural Park: the beginning and end of hell.
